Old News
RECORDING PROGRESS
Mark has finished playing in all violin parts, both acoustic and electric;
guitars are down, as are drums and bass. All that is left is a hefty
amount of editing, keys, and vocals! Pray for us as we embark on the final
leg of what has been a long run. We need that last bit of energy to finish the
race!
BROTHER JOHN ALBUM
We are recording our album!! Yes, an album is taking shape, and we are
aiming for an April 2008 release at Nth Fest. James and Ian have spent
10 days in the studio laying down bass and drums, and Tom is recording
guitars as we speak... Tom is also taking a week off work in early
Decemeber to nail the guitars and vocals. Mark will jump on board
when his PhD has sailed away. Keep us in your prayers!
GILES ALBUM OUT NOW
The latest artist to come aboard the Risen wagon, Matt Giles, has
just released his debut album, entitled 'Undone'. This minor
masterpiece, released in collaboration with Honeycomb Music, has been bubbling away for a
while, giving us in the brother john camp plenty of time to get
excited about it! Indeed, the album itself has called upon the
mixing talents of our Matt and the drumming prowess of our James,
with Mark adding a bit of violinistic sugar on top. We highly
recommend you go and have a listen on the Matt Giles MySpace page; if you like what you
hear you can go to his Risen Records artist page and order yourself a
copy. Great things are afoot!
DWEEB JOIN RISEN
Great news! Madcap Coventry rock band [dweeb]
have joined us on the Risen
Records label to release their debut album later this year. We hope
we can support them in their ministry as much as they have supported us
in making this move. A brief article can also be found on the
Cross Rhythms web site.
NEW TRACKS AVAILABLE
We've just made some new tracks available for download! They're live
recordings from The Riverside Church gig with Bosh last December. A bit
rough and ready, but in some ways better than what we have out already,
and should whet your appetite for the forthcoming album. Go to our download.com page.
NTH FEST SUCCESS
Many would say even better than last year, Nth Fest 2007 has been widely
heralded as a success: glory to God. We tucked ourselves into a nice
little 15 minute slot in the afternoon which seemed to be well received,
then proceeded to enjoy the rest of the evening. What a line-up! Have a
look at our gig review for a few more words about the day. Tickets for next year(!) are already on sale, so book it
in your diaries and bag yourselves an early-bird offer.
